The modern-day Torrevieja grew from the old fishing village and nestles between two large salt lakes and the Mediterranean. The area around the lakes is a bird-watcher's paradise. There is a fine choice of beaches, bars, restaurants and sports facilities.

La Zenia II is farther south with easy access to fabulous beaches and coves.
